I did manage to increase my income in December as compared to November. It still wasn’t quite enough to cover my expenses though. I do need to start making more money than I spend and I should be able to do that this month. I didn’t make much money from my job last month since I didn’t have the opportunity to work very many hours. That will change this month and I should make quite a bit more money from the job. It will not be full-time hours and the pay isn’t much so it isn’t going to be too much. It is a good thing I have passive income and alternative income to help pay my bills as well.

A lot of my stocks paid dividends in December but not as many pay dividends in January so that will be down this month.  There probably won’t be any other significant changes in my income this month.

My income for October was good considering it was all alternative and passive income. It was higher than my expenses – if you don’t include my car purchase – which is always a plus. I will be hard pressed to match this amount of income in November since I don’t have any study money or bonus money coming . It is possible that I will have some income from a j-o-b this month but it will probably not add much to my total income.

July was a great month for income. This was mostly due to making a lot of money from the medical study. Without that money my income will be way down this month. Online income was not as bad as the total suggests since I paid for one year hosting and renewed my domain name for three years out of that total.  Everything else will probably remain about the same this month.  I need to come up with some ideas to increase my alternative income – and actually implement them.

July Expenses – $1383.86

Here are my expenses for July.

$406.92

$70.75

$34.59

Travel

These expenses were a little higher than I would like. This is mainly because of the travel expenses. Travel is now a separate category from entertainment to give a more accurate picture of where I am spending my money. I was hoping that my expenses for August would be very low but since I’ve returned early from my hike my expenses will probably not be too low. They should be lower than July though.

This was a great month for income. Since I’ve started tracking my income this is the first time I’ve made over $3000 in a month. The bulk of that was the $2425 from the medical study but I also made a solid $796.68 from other sources. My online income was a measly $232.83. This might seem ok but I’m on pace to make less online this year than last. The main cause for that is a severe decline in credit card affiliate income this year. Combined with dropping adsense on this site I have a lot of income I need to replace. I am looking at different ways of making extra online income. My experiment for last month didn’t work but I’ll keep trying different things.

I received a $250 check from my credit card company for accumulated rewards. That was nice but since they changed the reward program it doesn’t look like I’ll be receiving a check that big again. It was also a good month for dividends due to how the quarterly payment schedule fell. This month’s income will likely be down since the medical study is ending and I need to pay some taxes out of this month’s check.
