I had a guest post at Smart Passive Income yesterday which explained how to increase eHow income with referral links. I know there are a lot of people interested in using eHow as a passive income stream and I thought I would update my eHow earnings so far.
Since I wrote that post my earnings for February came to a total of $1.47. This isn’t much but I haven’t written anything since early December and I wasn’t active on the eHow site during February so this is actually decent for only having 5 articles. I also received another $25 referral bonus this Monday which makes a total of $75 in bonuses since writing the article. That makes my time spent writing for eHow worthwhile.
I need to write more articles for eHow but I don’t have much time right now. I’ve read that some people can write an article in twenty minutes but it takes me about an hour. I also want to do some more research before I write any more articles to increase their potential for earnings. There are several ebooks by eHow authors on how to make money with eHow but I’m not sure which one to buy if any. The books may contain good advice but if I don’t get around to writing any articles the advice won’t be of any help.
What ebook on eHow would you recommend?
I think that the only Ehow earnings the authors of the books are making essentially come from selling books on how to make money on ehow 🙂
While I agree that the authors of those eBooks do well for themselves, I found Janet and Maria’s books to both be of exceptional quality. Each has information not contained in the other. I have also heard Anthony’s book is great but I have not read that one so it is purely hearsay!
If you are great at SEO and keyword research, you may do just as well without purchasing any of them, but I can say without a doubt that Janet’s book helped me make more money on eHow (plus it is on sale until she finishes her new version). Links can be found anywhere so I won’t include one here.
On a side note, I just hit 100 articles tonight on eHow (after a few weeks of inactivity). I just wish that my articles earned as much as some people’s articles do.
Good luck my friend!
I will second the recommendation on Maria’s eBook. It changed how I started forming my articles focusing a little more on keywords.
Skip the eHow books, you can find any of the information they have in other people’s eHow blogs or right on the eHow website in the forums.
If you want it all in one place, check out desolator’s eHow guide:
http://desolator144.com/ehow.html
It’s free and contains the same info as the other ebooks.
David Sarokin is another eHow veteran writer who wrote his own free guide about how to write for eHow. You might want to check that one out as well.
RachelB – Thanks for the advice. I probably won’t have time to look at this guide for a while but I will do it eventually.
You should post your articles on firehow.com to double your earning potential.
Both sites have similar concepts.
I actually haven’t used any eHow books other than the free ones posted online by David Sarokin and the deslolator one modough referred to above. Both of those were really useful. Otherwise, I just used general SEO knowledge I’ve developed and have been doing well, although I think I may cave and get one.
How do you get the eHow referral bonuses? I know of their contests but wasn’t aware of referrals.
This post is from a while back and I still haven’t bought an eHow book so I may end up just using the free resources. I haven’t done anything at all on eHow for a few months though. Next month I will start working on eHow again.
The referral bonuses I am talking about are not from eHow but from the bank I am promoting in my eHow post.
I really enjoy writing for ehow. I have written 82 articles and my earnings are good. How do you get ehow referral bonuses?
Tammy – The referral bonus was for a product I wrote about in an eHow post not a bonus from ehow.
