I’ve noticed that I am getting lots of traffic from MSN for my food stamp post from last year. Could someone tell me why it is getting so much traffic now? Thanks.

Last Class Ever
Thursday was my last class ever of law school. I need to take two finals and finish my r&w and I will be done. My finals are Monday and Thursday of next week so I’ll be done with those in April. One of my finals is in a pass/fail class and I already have enough points to pass even if I get a 0 on the final. No pressure there. My other final I do need to do well on but with it being my only final to study for that won’t be a problem.
Finishing my r&w is going to be my biggest challenge. I need to write 30 pages and I have about 1 now. I’ve done all the research and have lots of notes but I keep finding ways to procrastinate on the actual writing. I have until 3 weeks after finals to finish. Since I’m leaving on my hike May 11 though I really need to have it done by then. This is doable but I need to put my nose to the grindstone these next couple of weeks.
Bought a New Cell Phone
I bought a new cell phone yesterday to take on my hike. I bought an lg rumor touch off Craigslist for $60. This was a great price since it would have cost me $30 to buy the phone if I signed a new two-year contract. It is worth more than $30 to me to not have to sign a new contract. I have already activated the phone and it is working fine.
The main reason I bought a new phone is so I could check my email on the trail. This phone will work for that although I probably will just be checking my email and not sending and reading a lot of emails. How much coverage I’ll have on the trail is another question. It doesn’t look like Sprint has very good coverage along the trail. Hopefully, I will have coverage often enough to make it worth upgrading my phone.
***My book giveaway contest is ending tomorrow. Right now there are only 2 entrants at the one I’m hosting at Bank Bonuses. Head over and enter the contest and you have a great chance of winning.
Had Second Court Hearing Yesterday
The court hearing for my second case was yesterday. This one went much more smoothly than the prior one and everything was resolved as planned. I was still very nervous and have plenty of room for improvement but I got the job done. The nice thing is that I am now basically finished with my law clinic. I just have to send out a couple closing letters and I am done.
Now I need to concentrate on finishing my research and writing project. I have about 20 of 30 pages done. That sounds like I am pretty close to finishing but the 20 pages I have done are very rough and will need a lot of revision. I might be skipping a day of posting here and there until I have the paper finished. This is the only thing I need to worry about for meeting graduation requirements so I need to concentrate on it now.
A Million Dollars is Too Much and Not Enough
There is something about a million dollars that seems to evoke strong feelings in people. Compare the following two posts about a million dollars.
“84 Year Old Social Worker Saves 1.4 Million Dollars” at Get Rich Slowly. Most people found this to be an inspiring story but there were some who felt that she must have had a miserable life if she was able to save a million dollars. And there were others who said that what she did couldn’t be done now.
“What Would You Do With a Million Dollars” at Bargaineering. Most people here feel that a million dollars isn’t really that much money.
My thoughts are that a million dollars is still a lot of money and I could comfortably retire if I had that sum right now. Saving a million dollars is a reachable goal for most people with an average income. I believe I could save a million dollars if I made that a primary goal. I’d prefer to spend less time working though so I’ll attempt to live like a millionaire rather than be a millionaire.
