I was quite happy with how low my expenses were last month. I was lucky in that none of my irregular expenses were due and no unusual expenses popped up. I won’t be able to repeat such a low amount this month because my $200 quarterly health insurance payment is due. Most other expenses should remain roughly the same. This is the first month I won’t be paying rent on my own apartment but rather contributing a similar amount to my GF as my contribution towards our household expenses. This shouldn’t make much difference in my finances but we’ll see what happens.
Hi TFM
How do you manage to spend so little on food?
Hi,
Yeah, was wondering the same thing about the food- Seriously, $28?!?
Sorry, I should have explained my food expense because it is misleading. I included an explanation in last month’s expense post but obviously should have done so again.
I eat most of my meals at my GF’s house which is why my food expense is deceptively small. I spent about $100 a month before this although I did manage to spend only $30 one month.
And just so you know I’m not a mooch I do pay my GF a fixed amount each month as my share of the household expenses.
I am very impressed that your extra income is more than your expenses. I’ll have to keep reading to see how you do it.
Daizy- I believe that is the first time my expenses were lower than my extra income. I suppose I should be happy about that. I won’t likely be able to repeat this soon though. Last month was a combination of unusually low expenses and unusually high extra income. My goal is to have my extra income be higher than my expenses in a normal month.
