I said I was going to have some big news this week and this is it. I am now engaged to a wonderful woman. We went to high school together and recently reconnected through Facebook. Who says Farmville is a silly waste of time? It was time well spent for me.
Now I will be able to write about personal finance as it relates to a couple rather than a single man. She is frugal too so that will work out well for us. I’m also going to be a stepdad to two teenage girls. Yikes! That should provide me with some financial stuff to write about.
There will be some posts on getting engaged on a frugal budget and having a frugal wedding coming eventually.
My, oh my… congrats, Andy!!! What a wonderful story of how social media can rekindle a relationship from the past. Good for you.
Congratulations! I’d send you a FV mystery gift, but you’re not my FV friend 🙁
I hope this works out for you and your new family – lots of changes in store.
And if you and your girlfriend are looking for FV neighbors – friend me 🙂
Congrats! We look forward to hearing about the challenges (and many joys!) of throwing a wedding on a budget.
Congrats TFM! Sometimes there things which are more important than making money online!
I’m soooo happy for you! You are such a wonderful person, you deserve all of the best.
And if you are looking for any advice about teenagers, you know where to find me. Don’t expect to be too frugal! Just speaking from experience!
Andy,
Congratulations!
Everyone – Thanks for the kind words.
Law School. Marriage. Children.
This miser thing isn’t going to last too long.
Rob – LOL. It is getting to be more difficult to be a miser but I think I can make it last.
Congrats! I wish you all the best and I too would love to hear how you’ll throw a frugal wedding. Is she also a tight fisted miser?
She is frugal but not quite a tight-fisted miser like I am.
What great news! I will be eager to hear all of your frugal wedding suggestions. Even though I am not planning a wedding, I still love to hear how others can manage with only a little money while some people insist on spending thousands on the big day.
Daizy- Thanks. We will be having a frugal wedding although the honeymoon will cost a bit.
