I made $47.12 from cash back and $74.20 from surveys.
I made $1598.23 from job income. This was lower than normal due to missing 9 days of work while visiting Thailand. This should return to normal this month.
I made $641 from my state tax refund.
This month will be better since I will be working the entire month.
March’s expenses were a little high, but trending in the right direction
Entertainment expense was for one month of Amazon Prime, one month Hulu, one month or Paramount Plus, one month of Max, and a lottery ticket. I forgot to cancel Paramount Plus before my free months expired. I’ve received many free months from them so it still isn’t a bad deal.
My transportation expense consisted of $109.42 for gas, $72 to get my car inspected and licensed for two years, and $4.16 for a taxi in Bangkok.
My food expense was $535.07. That is divided between $361.55 for groceries and $175.32 for restaurants. That is higher than normal. Some of that is from eating out a lot when we were in Thailand and some is for buying stuff for my wife’s family and some is just from a lot of random spending. This should return to a more normal level this month.
Travel expense came in at $540.56. $188.70 was for airfare. When we got to Thailand I was surprised to get a text that our return flights to the U.S. were canceled. Luckily, I was able to buy us new tickets for not too much more than our original flights. The difference between our refunded flight and the new flight was $181.04. I spent $7.66 for a carry-on bag on Air Asia.
I spent $206.03 on hotels. That was for one night near LAX and five nights in Thailand. The Thailand hotel also included a scooter rental in that rate.
Utilities came in at $275.23. This was for electric, trash, and internet.
Household expense came in at $130.99. This included a haircut, clothes, postage, gifts for my wife’s family, and other household stuff.
I spent $17.92 for one month of phone service for my wife and a Thai sim card.
The $190.69 spent on health consisted of $61.46 for an insurance premium, $51.01 for medicine and supplements and $78.22 for a doctor visit.
This month’s expenses should much lower, closer to a normal month. How was your month?
I made $38.63 from other selling. This was stuff that wouldn’t be worth my time to resale except that buying them helps me meet a credit card signup bonus.
I made $35.64 from cash back.
I made $2995.06 from job income. I once again forgot to include my health insurance premiums deducted from my paycheck in the month’s expenses. I will remember to add them for this month.
I made $1474 from my federal tax refund.
This month will probably be a little lower since I missed five work days due to being in Thailand and I won’t have the large tax refund to boost my income.
February’s expenses were again quite high. This month’s expenses will also be high but I hope they will be a little lower.
Entertainment expense was for one month of Amazon Prime, one month Hulu, and one month of Max.
My transportation expense consisted of $95.34 for gas, $359 for six month of insurance, and $5 for a bus in LA.
My food expense was $353.16. That is divided between $223.71 for groceries and $129.45 for restaurants. This will probably be about the same this month.
Travel expense came in at $147.53. This was $86 for airfare (2 tickets Singapore to Bangkok), $24.70 for a hotel in Bangkok, and $36.83 for travel insurance.

Household expense came in at $294.50. This was higher than normal as it included a gift of an iPhone in addition to the normal household items.
I spent $15 for one month of phone service for my wife.
The $1004.65 spent on health consisted of $61.46 for an insurance premium, $4.61 for medicine, and $938.58 for doctor visits. This expense should be much less this month.
This month’s expenses will still be higher than normal, but should be a little lower. How was your month?
January was a good income month. Although I had some negative income, that was offset by having five paychecks during the month.
Dividend income came in at $20.27.
Interest income was $193.76.
I had a loss of $64.66 from selling on eBay. This was an item that I bought a couple of years ago on speculation that it would go up in value. That didn’t happen and I was happy to finally unload it for not too bad of a loss.
I made $12.47 from other selling. This was stuff that wouldn’t be worth my time to resale except that buying them helps me meet a credit card signup bonus.
I made $56.76 from cash back.
I made $3768.27 from job income. When adding this up I realized that I forgot to include my health insurance premiums deducted from my paycheck in this month’s expenses. I will remember to add them for this month.

Finally, I had a capital loss of $548 from selling some stocks. I decided to reduce the number of stocks I own in taxable accounts and sold off all of my losers.
This month will probably be a little lower since it is a shorter month and I’ll be off four workdays at the end of the month to go to Thailand.
