July Expenses $1854.70

Here is a breakdown of my expenses for July.

Household$239.16
Utilities$330.28
Entertainment$2.98
Transportation$801.66
Food$399.45
Health$66.17
Travel$0
Phone$15
Total$1854.70

July’s expenses were a little higher than I’d prefer.

Entertainment expense was for one month of one month Hulu and one month of Peacock, My monthly Prime bill was paid by a free gift card I got for signing up for the Prime Visa card.

My transportation expense consisted of $141.46 for gas, $260.20 for a jump start and a new battery, and $400 for an electric bike. We haven’t used the bike much yet and I doubt we’ll ever use it enough for it to reduce our gas expense. The bike is fun though, and I plan to use it more when the weather is cooler.

My food expense was $399.45. That is divided between $194.30 for groceries and $205.15 for restaurants. That is much better than last month. We didn’t need to buy as many groceries in July since we were well stocked from June’s grocery shopping. It will be difficult to keep this total under $400 this month. I will try to eat less fast food so that should help a little.

Travel expense came in at $0.

Utilities came in at $330.28. This was for electric, water, and internet. The electric/water bill was $250. That was caused by a lot of A/C use due to a heat wave and also a lot of watering of the yard and garden. There were a couple of times that the water was accidentally left on overnight. Hopefully, that won’t happen this month and the water bill will be lower. I will also hope for cooler temperatures so we don’t need to run the A/C so much.

Household expense came in at $239.16. This was mostly spending on the yard and normal household stuff. There was an expense of $75 to pay a young relative for painting part of our fence. This expense should be lower this month since I won’t need to pay for painting and shouldn’t need to buy much more stuff for the yard.

I spent $15 for one month of phone service for my wife.

The $66.17 spent on health consisted of $61.46 for health insurance and $4.71 for medicine.

This month’s expenses should be lower. How was your month?
