June Expenses $1941.32

Here is a breakdown of my expenses for June.

Household$381.36
Utilities$256.63
Entertainment$53.07
Transportation$198.64
Food$709.04
Student Loan$100
Health$28.32
Travel$0
Phone$214.26
Total$1941.32

June’s expenses were higher than I’d prefer.

Entertainment expense was for one month of Amazon Prime, one month Hulu, one month of Peacock, one month of Max and a trip to the movies. Two movie tickets, one popcorn and one drink cost $32.81 and that was using coupons. I don’t think going to the movie theater is a good value anymore. Since I have plenty to watch on the streaming services I probably won’t go to the movies again until I get a special deal.

My transportation expense consisted of $198.64 for gas.

My food expense was $709.04. That is divided between $504.59 for groceries and $204.45 for restaurants. That is much higher than I’d like. We are well stocked for this month and I’ll keep a closer eye on food spending so this expense should go way down this month.

Travel expense came in at $0. I did book a couple of tickets with miles, but I’m very likely to have to cancel them so I’m not counting the taxes and fees on the award ticket as an expense yet.

Utilities came in at $256.63. This was for electric, trash, and internet.

Household expense came in at $381.35. This was much higher than normal. The big expenses were buying a lawn mower and lots of lawn care stuff. The rest was the usual cleaning supplies, personal hygiene items, and lots of other household stuff.

I spent $214.26 for one month of phone service for my wife plus one year of phone service for me.

The $28.32 spent on health consisted of $8.32 for medicine, and $20 for a doctor’s visit. I saved some money in this category since I was able to pay my wife’s health insurance premium with rewards earned for completing healthy activities through her health insurance. This expense will be higher this month.

This month’s expenses should be lower. How was your month?
