Here is a breakdown of my expenses for April.
Household | $47.94 |
Utilities | $199.31 |
Entertainment | $11.27 |
Transportation | $147.77 |
Food | $489.70 |
Visa | $0 |
Health | $69.07 |
Travel | $148 |
Phone | $25 |
Total | $1138.06 |
April’s expenses were reasonable.
Entertainment expense was for one month of Amazon Prime, one month Hulu, and one month of Max.
My transportation expense consisted of $61.47 for gas and $86.30 for an oil change. Even for a full synthetic oil change the oil change seemed rather expensive. I’ll shop around before the next one.
My food expense was $489.70. That is divided between $261.54 for groceries and $228.16 for restaurants. That is lower than the previous month, but still too high. Some of the restaurant spending was for discounted gift cards which still have balances that I’ll use this month which should lower restaurant spending a little.
Travel expense came in at $148. That was for two credit card annual fees. The $49 fee for my IHG card gives me one free night which will be worth a lot more than $49. The $99 fee on my Hawaiian Airlines card allows me to earn 70,000 miles as a sign up bonus. The Hawaiian miles will become Alaska miles when the two airlines merge and I will get a lot more than $99 of value from those miles.
Utilities came in at $199.31. This was for electric and internet.
Household expense came in at $47.94. This was for cleaning supplies, personal hygiene items, and lots of other household stuff.
I spent $25 for one month of phone service for my wife plus extra data.
The $69.07 spent on health consisted of $61.46 for an insurance premium and $7.61 for medicine.
This month’s expenses should be around the same. How was your month?
