Dollar General is having a great sale on select gift cards now through 12/10/2016. You save $10 instantly when you buy two gift cards in any combination of Burger King, Taco Bell, Dominos, Cabelas, Chili’s, TGI Fridays, and Facebook gift cards. This gives you a savings of 50% off on $10 gift cards.
I’ve already gone to Dollar General and tried this deal for myself. I was able to get two $10 Burger King gift cards for a total of $10. Since I eat at Burger King often being able to use a 50% off gift card will save me a lot of money. I also tried to buy two variable load Chili’s gift cards at $15 each, but the discount didn’t apply. They didn’t have any fixed value Chili’s gift cards at the DG closest to me, but I’ll try another location tomorrow. There have been conflicting data points in this Slickdeals thread on whether the variable load cards will work.
Since the deal is for $10 off two cards the lowest denomination cards give you the best savings. Burger King is the only card that has a $10 card available. Taco Bell and Chili’s have $15 gift cards available which is still a very good savings. I wouldn’t bother with the Domino’s or TGI Fridays cards since I never eat there. I don’t have any use for a Facebook card either. The Cablela’s card has a minimum denomination of $25 which would result in only a 20% savings. Since it is frequently possible to get Cabela’s gift cards at 20% off I wouldn’t bother with that deal.
It would be nice if there were more cards to choose from, but I shouldn’t complain when a store is giving me 50% off already cheap food. I plan to stock up on enough Burger King cards to last me six months or so. Do you plan on buying any gift cards from this deal?
