I didn’t do much blogging this week. I was in a medical study with limited internet access three days and worked a 16 hour day another day and was pretty busy on the other days. I am going to try to make better use of my time this week so that the three days in the medical study cause less of a disruption to my blogging.
Here are some interesting posts from around the blogosphere:
Faithful with a Few managed to save $180, spend $2, and make $65 shopping at CVS. I sometimes take advantage of the deals at CVS and Walgreens but I have never come close to this.
BuyLikeBuffet shares the three worst jobs to have right now. They probably won’t be any surprise to you.
Richly Reasonable tells you 5 stupid things you can do with your money.
Lazy Man and Money is getting blackmailed by someone associated with Monavie. This will hopefully bring more attention to the Monavie scam.
My Money Blog informs us that Google is offering free PC -to-phone calls. You have probably already heard about that. I haven’t gotten around to trying it myself but combined with Google Voice this could be a handy tool. I’m thinking about setting up a separate business number.
That is all I have for now. If you want to be in my next link roundup leaving a comment can help your chances.

GMail Voice is a welcome competitor to Skype, with the added benefit of having a free real phone number.
But in our case, they don’t have any numbers in our area code, and you still can’t “port” in.
Further, using it for outgoing calls wastes a lot of time – you don’t get actual busy signals, just faked ringing, so you can waste a whole minute per call attempt.
Nor does it support SIP directly. I can live with turning my PC on to make a lot of calls, but I don’t want to leave it on to receive them. Of course, Google will NEVER support an ATA, since that would let you talk without clicking.
Thanks for the inclusion!
