January 2010 Review

by Andy Hough on January 31, 2010

One month of 2010 is done. Not a lot happened this month. I did put in my notice at my job this week. My last day will be dependent on when they can find a replacement for me. I might work until the end of February. I quit so that I will be able to do my thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. Depending on when my last day of work is I will start my hike in late February or early March. I think my online income will be enough to cover my expenses while hiking. I will update my hiking plans as they become more definite.

I did get the rest of my student loans consolidated. They are all with the federal government now. Under the Income-Based Repayment Plan my payments will be $0 a month.

This next month will be spent preparing for my hike. I already have all the gear I need. My preparation will mainly consist of getting rid of stuff from my apartment and writing posts ahead of time for my blogs.

On an unrelated note I had a post in the Festival of Frugality this week at Ultimate Money Blog.
