My New Car

I got my new car this weekend. It is a 97 Camry with 154,000 miles on it. I’m hoping that this car will make it to over 240,000 miles like my last Toyota did. Combining the purchase price, state and local taxes, two years registration, and six month’s insurance I have a total of $3991.24 invested in the car. I shouldn’t have to spend much more on the car other than gas for the next few months though. Now that I have a car I need to figure out what I am going to do next.

Dude, that’s a sweet ride man! Congrats! 🙂

I got a 2000 beater myself that’s worth $7,000 perhaps. Yihaw!

I sold my Camry in December 2006 and purchased a Corolla to replace it. I’d purchased the Camry for around $4,000 in 2002 (it, too was a 97 model if I’m not mistaken) and managed to sell it on ebay for $3,000. It’s a super good car and I probably should have held onto it.

At the time I was making good money at my job and, since I’m not mechanically inclined, I wanted to sell the Camry before anything went wrong with it.

Congratulations on the purchase and enjoy the car. The only problem I had with mine seemed to be the brake pads wearing down faster than expected.
