Now that I am doing the medical study I have come up with a new hiking plan. My original plan was to do a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail starting on May 11. Since I won’t be able to start my hike until mid July I am starting at Delaware Water Gap, PA and hiking north to Katahdin. This is a distance of just under 900 miles. I will probably end my hike then. If I still feel like hiking and have the time and money I will catch a ride back to DWG and hike south to Waynesboro,VA which would complete the AT for me since I’ve previously hike from Springer Mountain,GA to Waynesboro. If I’m feeling really good and still have the time and money I will continue south to Springer Mountain so I can call my hike a thru-hike. Whichever scenario happens I will get some hiking in this year. I’m not going to worry about my $200 a month budget but I doubt I’ll spend too much more than that.
