The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferris is my favorite personal finance book other than Your Money or Your Life
. I was a little skeptical of this book before I read it but I found it to be full of good ideas. After reading it I believe that a 4-hour work week is possible in my not too distant future. Of course before you can get to a 4-hour work week you have to do quite a bit of work that will likely have you putting in much longer than 4 hours of work in a week.
Rather than do a review of the entire book I am going to do separate posts on some of my favorite ideas from the book. Here are some of the topics I will cover. Parkinson’s Law (which I’m experiencing right now on my R&W) and the Pareto Principle were two concepts I was not familiar with but understanding them should lead to an increase in productivity. His idea of mini-retirements is very close to my idea of semi-retirement and is something I plan to incorporate. Automating your online business is a great way to reduce your workload and I’m going to follow some of the examples he includes in his book. There are plenty of other good ideas in his book and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in working less and increasing their passive income.
