The second chapter of Your Money or Your Life deals with life energy and tracking all the money that comes into and goes out of your life.
Your life energy is the hours of life you have available. Your real hourly wage is the amount of money you make at your job minus all your job-related expenses. These costs can include commuting, meals, clothing, escape entertainment and more. When you subtract all these expenses your real hourly wage might be much lower than you expected. Now you know how much you are trading your life energy for.
Keeping track of all the money that comes into and goes out of your life is just what it sounds like. Record in a spreadsheet every penny that you make or spend. I have done this on and off for many years and my finances always start to suffer when I quit tracking my money.
That is a very brief summary of chapter two, I recommend you purchase the book to get all of the information. Next week I will provide a summary of chapter three.
