My Roth IRA lost about 20% of its value this week. I guess I can be thankful I haven’t saved that much money yet. On a brighter note, here are some of my favorite posts from the Frugal Blog Network and beyond this week.
Almost Frugal talks about the hidden costs of going back to school. I’ve managed to keep these to a minimum but it is good to consider all the different costs associated with returning to school.
Frugal Babe talks about how she is so much better off with less money. My current income is much less than it was ten years ago but I’m much happier now.
Frugal Zeitgeist talks about affluenza and the new economy. The current financial mess might reduce affluenza but I imagine it will quickly return when the economy stabilizes.
Not Made of Money talks about spend free days. These are what I call no spend days and they’re a great way to keep your budget in check.
The Frugal Duchess discusses how to get free entertainment and free classes. These are some good ideas and the classes can help you save money by being able to make repairs or improvements yourself.
A couple of my favorite blogs have ended.
Frugal for Life was one of the first personal finance blogs I read. The archives will remain but the blog will no longer be updated.
Hobo Stripper is a great blog by a stripper who lives in a van. She blogs on a variety of topics and provides a unique perspective. Now that she has bought her own land to live on she’s decided it is time for her blog to end. There are plenty of archives to read there and she might start a new blog eventually.
