I have yet to begin saving for an emergency fund, but when I do I will fully fund my Roth IRA prior to building up my emergency fund. I would rather have to use a credit card and balance zero interest credit cards than not contribute fully to my retirement savings. Earlier you save the better off you are for retirement.
