Internship Update

I started my internship with the Public Defender’s office yesterday.  It looks like I’m going to be doing quite a variety of things.  I’m only going to be working half days eventually but right now I’m working longer than that while I’m getting familiar with everything.  Since this office is located 3 hours from Kansas City where I live I’m staying with my mom who lives here.  She doesn’t have internet and I can only use the internet at work for work-related purposes so I have to visit the public library to get on the internet.  This is going to make keeping my blog updated more difficult than I anticipated but once I start working half days it shouldn’t be a problem.  My current plan is to work Monday-Thursday here and return to Kansas City for Friday through Sunday.  This will allow me to work a couple shifts at my paying job in KC plus spend time with my GF.  I’m hoping that gas prices don’t rise enough to make this too impractical.  I’m glad to be getting the experience this internship provides but it is going to make my finances difficult for the summer.
