I'll finish my first year soon, but I very much want to quit after that. The only thing holding me back is that 10 yrs from now I may wish I had that higher degree.

I want to quit law school. I have one month left of first year, so I'm going to finish that b/c of loan requirements, etc. I don't think I'm going to come back next year. In fact, I'm sure. It fills me with joy. I thought it would be intellectually stimulating, but not so. I love life to much to spend it doing this. I don't care too much about big money, so there are many options.

I've only got two months left now so I will be finishing law school. What I do with my J.D. degree is still undecided.

I'm dead serious when I say: QUIT NOW AND NEVER LOOK BACK. I'm a recent law grad from NY and I hated every single minute of law school. What was only worse than law school was my law firm job where I worked for two years reading, researching, and drafting boring documents all day, sometimes without any human contact whatsoever. You may think- well maybe it's more exciting once I become licensed and get my first associate job? No- actually it gets worse. I was doing the same work as the associates in the office except that I didn't have to work 60 hrs a week doing it. They were all extremely depressed people always telling me to quit law while I still have the chance. Be completely honest with yourself- there are a lot more ways to make money. Find out what really drives you. I'm guessing sitting in a room surfing westlaw and reviewing boring documents for the rest of your life is not it. Find out what it is and just take a leap and do it. I guarantee you will not regret it.
