Top Frugality Pick Plus COPF

March 4th, 2008 | by Tight Fisted Miser |

I was pleasantly surprised to see that my post “An Exercise and Frugality Hack” was a top pick at the Festival of Frugality being hosted by Broke Grad Student.  I’ve had pretty good luck at getting my posts in the editor’s picks but this is the first time I’ve had the first post listed.  Some other posts I enjoyed from the festival are:

Top 10 times not to shop at Thrifty Mommy.  I’ve noticed that I often make very poor financial decisions when I’m tired.

The Art of Being a Gracious Houseguest at Less Than a Shoestring.  This is the first time I’ve seen this blog but I really like that it has information on shoestring budget travel.  What some travel writers consider budget I consider luxury.

Is Frugality Becoming Fashionable?” from Oh My Aching Debts.  It would be nice if it were true than I would be fashionable for the first time in my life.

I also had a post Concentrate on the Big Three in the Carnival of Personal Finance at The Baglady.  I’d like to thank the hosts of both the Festival and the Carnival and encourage everyone to visit both and link back if you write about a post.

Congrats on the pick and thanks for the special mention!

I feel the same way on budget vs. luxury travel. I hope you had a chance to read these posts on that very topic:

That $500 budget is about what I spent on my 4-night, 5-day vacation in Cancun including airfare. If I would have had $500 to blow just in Cancun I would have felt decadent.
